Variations on Digital Stories

There are many variations on digital storytelling that are popular. While the same digital storytelling principles can be applied, these variants introduce significant constraints.

Pecha Kuchu is a presentation format that involves using 20 images for 20 seconds each for a total presentation time of 400 seconds or 6 minutes and 40 seconds. You can imagine that this format forces the story to be focused and rapid paced.

5X5 movies are also popular. This format requires the story to be told with 5 separate video clips, each of 5 seconds duration. You have 25 seconds to tell your story!

The photo-sharing site Flickr has groups based on storytelling. One of the groups is called Tell a Story in 5 frames (Visual story telling). See if you can find a favourite story.
